Specialist – Procurement & Contracts | Sustaining Capital �� Brisbane CBD | Hybrid | 12-Month Contract | $850–$950 per day super We are seeking two (2) experienced Procurement & Contracts Specialists to support a sustaining capital portfolio within a major mining and resources environment. These backfill roles focus on end-to-end procurement delivery across: Capital works & construction packaging Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) procurement & fleet strategy About the opportunity: These roles support critical sustaining capital workstreams and are focused on strategy development, work packaging and commercial execution , not transactional contract administration. You will work closely with project teams, engineers and operational stakeholders to translate capital plans and forecasts into structured procurement and contracting strategies that enable long-term delivery outcomes. 1st Role: Capital Works & Frameworks (Construction / Infrastructure) Focus: Procurement strategy development for sustaining capital programs Packaging of 3–5 year work programs End-to-end sourcing (strategy, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, award) Development of framework agreements and contracting models Supporting SMP, concrete, construction and infrastructure packages Converting capital forecasts into executable procurement strategies Ideal background: Construction, infrastructure, EPC/EPCM or capital projects procurement Experience packaging multi-workstream procurement strategies Exposure to engineering or project delivery environments 2nd Role: HME Procurement (Mining Fleet & Equipment) Focus: End-to-end procurement and contracting for Heavy Mobile Equipment Fleet replacement and renewal strategy development OEM and supply market analysis (make/buy/lease decisions) Strategic sourcing for mining equipment (haul trucks, excavators, dozers etc.) Commercial modelling and category strategy development Supporting asset lifecycle planning with operations teams Ideal background: Mining procurement or HME category experience Exposure to OEMs or mining supply chain environments Strong commercial and category strategy capability �� Core Responsibilities (Both Roles) Lead end-to-end procurement lifecycle from strategy to award Develop sourcing strategies from capital plans and forecasts Prepare tender documentation, evaluations and negotiation plans Manage multiple concurrent work packages in a fast-paced environment Provide commercial advice, risk assessment and procurement recommendations Partner with engineers, project managers and operational stakeholders Ensure governance and system compliance (SAP Ariba exposure desirable) Drive delivery outcomes through structured procurement execution About you Strong experience in procurement, contracts or commercial roles in complex environments End-to-end sourcing and contracting experience across major projects Ability to translate technical or capital requirements into procurement strategy Strong commercial acumen and risk identification capability Proven stakeholder engagement across technical and delivery teams Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple work packages Strong written and verbal communication skills Relevant degree (Business, Law, Engineering, QS or similar) or equivalent experience Why this role?
